Attorney Kerya Koeut brings more than two decades of legal experience to her family law practice. Her background provides a rare perspective that spans courtroom litigation, child welfare advocacy, and family legal matters.
Originally from Cambodia, Kerya earned her Bachelor of Science from Stetson University and her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Kerya earned her Bachelor of Science from Stetson University before continuing her legal education at Stetson University College of Law.
While attending law school, she worked with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, gaining experience in workers’ compensation and insurance defense litigation.
After law school, she joined the State Attorney’s Office Child Welfare Legal Services, representing the interests of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
In this role, she handled complex dependency and child protection cases within Florida’s court system.
She later served as a lead trial attorney, managing cases from the initial dependency petition through termination of parental rights and adoption proceedings under Florida’s Chapter 39 statutes.
Through this work, she developed extensive courtroom, interviewing, and negotiation experience while advocating in sensitive child welfare matters.
Today, her practice focuses on family law, divorce, child custody, and adoption, helping families navigate difficult legal transitions with experienced guidance.
